The Mobile Application Developer bootcamp provides multi-device coverage for Android™ applications as well as iPad®/iPhone® applications using Swift. Students will acquire mobile development skills and competency in working with major application development environments.
Our unique approach to educating mobile app developers combines on-demand training with personal facilitation and comprehensive hands-on exercises to assure successful training and competence. Students that finish the Mobile App Developer Bootcamp will have the necessary programming skills to add value to any organization that develops or maintains a mobile application. Our support staff provides personal setup assistance, guidance and lab equipment setup for each student. An instructor is assigned to each student to assist in completing lab exercises and to help with any questions about the mobile application development content. Our instructros have years of teaching experience and experience in developing mobile apps, enabling them to effectively answer student questions and provide superior lab exercise assistance when needed. Our classes are designed to be 50% lecture and 50% hands on exercises to prepare students for scenarios they will face as an app developer. Lab exercises are performed via direct high-speed access to a dedicated lab machine, providing responsive interaction and anywhere/anytime accessibility by the lab facilitator as well as the student.
The Mobile App Developer bootcamp prepares students to code applications for Android and iPhone environments. Coverage begins by setting up the Android IDE to develop and test Android apps for smartphones and tablets. Android-specific topics include using standard widgets such as buttons, checkboxes, lists, date/time pickers and images. Additionally, you will learn to develop native applications for iPhone with Swift using the Xcode interface. An optional additional course offering covers Microsoft’s cross-platform Xamarin programming environment which allows for development of iOS and Android applications simultaneously.
Upon completion of the program, students will have developed an appropriate knowledge base and hands-on development experience to pursue an entry-level mobile developer position in the workforce, and will be capable of developing both Android and iOS applications. iOS applications are written using the Swift language, and Android applications are written using Java language, so students will also learn the syntax fundamentals of these languages in this certificate program. Students who take the optional Xamarin course will also learn C# language fundamentals.
